Thoughout the year, Ozark Adventist Academy offers a variety of trips and tours for current students. Trips during a typical school year include events like Teen Prayer Conference, Fall Tournament, Leadership Camp, Acrofest, Club Campouts, Heritage Tour, Creation Tour, Biology Trip, and Senior Class Trip. These trips often create memories and friendships that are not easily erased.
Ozark's Juniors, in conjuction with their U.S. History class, take a tour of historic sites on the east coast. This trip is a lot of fun, very educational, and includes many stops of historical interest. Click HERE to learn more about Heritage Tour and to pay trip fees.
Students in Mr. Grant's Biology class have the opportunity to go on a Biology Float Trip down the Buffalo River. Nathan P., a student from the Class of 2024, wrote an article about his experience on the trip. His article can be read in this edition of The Upward Look.
Students enrolled in OAA's Earth Science classes have the opportunity to go to Kentucky. Students visit the Ark encounter, which is a full size replica of Noah's Ark, the Creation Museum, and Mammoth Caves. Photos are available on Facebook.
Each year students in the graduating class have the opportunity to go on a class trip. Every year is different. One year they may go to Dallas. Another year, they may go to Branson. The trips usually involve community service, educational opportunties, and activities just for fun.
It happens on the campus of a different Adventist university every year. This year Acrofest will be held at Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Tx. Twenty to thirty schools attend each year. Teen Prayer Conference takes place at Camp Yorktown Bay in Mountain Pine, Arkansas. The Arkansas-Louisiana Conference Prayer Ministries Department plans and hosts this event. A video from Prayer Conference is available on YouTube.
Leadership Camp is an opportunity for Ozark's students in elected positions to improve their skills and become more effective leaders on campus. Students holding Student Association offices, class offices, and other leadership positions on campus are invited to attend.
